British Literature Class Notes -- Week 3 (January 29)

Greetings!

We had another wonderful class this week.  The class has really risen to the occasion when it comes to class discussions.  We welcomed Makana Evans to the class, making us a nice even 10 in the class.

We finished with Beowulf this week; it didn't take very long for us to work through this book, Their discussion questions were insightful -- they included thoughts about symbolism, various themes, and character development.

With our lively discussion of Beowulf, we didn't have a lot of time to discuss our next week's reading assignment:  Much Ado About Nothing.  This is our Shakespeare selection for this class. A number of students have already read this, so I hope that we can go a little deeper with the book.  Unfortunately, the books that I had ordered for the class didn't come until Friday.  I gave the students Acts I and II as a pdf document.  They will have their books next week.
Assignment for Next Week:
-- Read Act I and Act II
-- Write 3 discussion questions

Have a great week!
